Water Polo Spotlight
For the first time in The Village School history, a water polo team has been created! Tryouts were held two weeks ago on February 11th and 12th. The team is led by Coach Phillips who played water polo for six years. Currently, there are 11 girls and 8 boys are on the team.
As of now, the team is noncompetitive and inter-mural, and they learn the fundamentals of the sport and prepare for competitive play.
“It has been a lot harder than expected for them, as in water polo, you have to tread in the middle of the pool and catch the ball using only one hand,” said Coach Phillips. “The positive has been everyone can sprint quite well and they are working quite hard.”
Good luck to the water polo team as they grow and develop into Viking Champions!
