Class of 2021 Update: Trips, Senior Week, and Prom
Senior Week, which spans from May 24th to May 27th, includes many excursions seniors can participate in, from Typhoon Texas to Top Golf.
Last year, the Class of 2020 held a virtual prom, postponed graduation into the summer, and had IB examinations cancelled – all due to COVID-19 complications. Therefore, the Class of 2021 expected similar dismal news with regards to their senior activities. This year’s senior class already experienced most of their school years online, with their junior prom cancelled, and the iconic senior retreat to Mo Ranch called off as well (all school trips were cancelled, according to an announcement sent by High School Director, Carl Newman, in late March).
The recent news of a scheduled date for an in-person prom, plan for a week of excursions to local Houston entertainment venues, and details about graduation, was therefore met with excitement by many. Below is truncated view of the latest update:
- May 21, 1:00PM to 2:30PM: Senior Awards Ceremony
- May 22, 9:00AM to 11:30AM: Senior Drive Through
- May 22, 8:00PM to 12:00AM: Senior Prom
- May 24, 11:00AM to 2:00PM: Senior Skate @ Dairy Ashford Roller Rink
- May 25, 7:30PM: Senior Sunset & Movie Night @VHS Courtyard & Field
- May 26, 11:00AM to 2:00PM: Top Golf
- May 27, 10:00AM to 2:00PM: Typhoon Texas
- May 28, 8:45AM: Graduate Rehearsal @ HS Patio
- May 29, 9:00AM: Graduate @ HS Field
