Dogs brought on campus for finals de-stressing initiative

On December 7th, in an effort to de-stress the school environment and provide students with a way to escape academic tensions during the weeks leading into exam season, dogs were brought into campus for students to visit during lunch hours. The three dogs, which were available for students to pet and interact with in the Learning Commons, were brought in by a local Houstonian pet shelter.

“I loved it when the dogs came to visit the school; It helped me realize I needed to de-stress and I was able to relax when I was around them,” sophomore, Leanne Liaw, said. “I highly recommend this event to happen again next year, as it is an easy way to calm down and recollect yourself.”

The initiative was highly successful, as the dogs were visited by over one hundred students throughout the course of the three lunch periods.
