IB Senior Dance Showcase
On Wednesday, April 10th, from 4:00 to 5:30, the seniorIB Dance students performed in the IB Dance Showcase, which took place in the Black Box Theater. The event exhibited two years worth of education and training in IB Dance (SL and HL) and students must participate in it in order to successfully graduate from the class.
This year, there were a total of 8 seniors who performed in the Showcase. The duration of the performances varied according to which class the dancers took: SL students choreographed 2 original dance pieces, totaling from 6-8 minutes long, while HL students choreographed 3 dances, totaling from 8-12 minutes.
The students have flexibility in choosing any style of dance to choreograph from.
“IB dance gives me the ability to be creative,” senior Jessica Tran said. “I thought we did a really good job, and we worked really hard, although there were some things struggled we with, such as timing.”
