At this point in his career, Babytron (also known as James Edward Johnson) isn’t proving anything to anyone; he’s just having fun. “Luka Tronic 2”, the newest addition to Babytron’s long list of great albums, feels like a victory lap, another wild run through Tron’s punchlines, video game lyrics, and insane confidence. It’s 23 songs of straight energy, released on August 1st, 2025, and Tron doesn’t let us sit on deep emotions or forced hooks —just pure entertainment from an artist who can deliver exactly what his fans need.
From the opening track “Luka Magic”, you can tell this project is special. The beat has a highlight reel introduction, and Babytron’s delivery has that same effortless rhythm that makes it so easy to listen to. By the time you even get to songs like “Mukbang”, “Cheat Code 3”, and “Punchgod 4”, it’s clear that he’s not running out of what makes him special anytime soon. Every verse is like an inside joke, with half of them making you laugh, while the other half makes you wonder what could’ve possibly helped him come up with them.
The features fit right in as well. G Herbo on Chase the money brings weight, Rio Da Yung OG on Ex2 adds the homey touch of Michigan, and NoCap on End-Zone brings a calmer, smoother energy. It’s cool seeing how Tron blends so many different styles while still keeping his sound front and center.
But what makes “Luka Troncic 2” work isn’t just the beats or lyrics; it’s the personality. Babytron doesn’t fake anything. He’s not trying to sound deep or switch up for the radio. He just talks his talk, and somehow it still feels fresh. Songs like Bol-Bol and Whiteboy show how comfy he is being himself even when he’s being ridiculous,
However, it’s a long album; 23 songs is a lot. But it never feels like a chore to listen to. The songs move quickly, the production stays lively, and the pacing keeps you locked in. “Final level” closes things perfectly, reminding listeners that Tron’s confidence isn’t an act. That’s the whole point.
“Luka Troncic 2” isn’t meant to change your life. It’s meant to make your drive to school better, your day funnier, and your speakers blow. And it does all that so easily. Babytron might joke around a lot, but underneath the humour is someone who’s mastered his craft and makes music that sticks.
He’s not following trends, he’s building a culture, and for that reason, I believe this album deserves a genuine high 2 to a mid 3 out of 5. This album will be loved by lyrical and comedic rap fans alike.
