The 2022 Annual Video Music Awards

On the evening of Sunday, August 28, 2022, The annual Video Music Awards (VMAs) were held. This award show is a combination of a fashion showcase and a number of performances.  This show can be watched on the MTV channel. Last night, a great deal of artists were rewarded and recognized by the public. One of the more memorable performances was most definitely Niki Minaj’s medley of her most popular songs, she has made her mark on past music television, however this year she was the recipient for the Video Vanguard Award. One unforgettable moment had to have been when Taylor Swift accepted the Video Of The Year Award for her short film “All Too Well” starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brian. Shortly after she received the award, she announced that she was going to be releasing her newest album “Midnight” On October 21. 

Another significant moment was when Bad Bunny won Artist Of The Year after his performance at the Yankee Stadium, where he performed. 

Now turning to the fashion choices of the many celebrities, Taylor Swift arrived in a crystal-covered Oscar de la Renta dress that resembled one of her past appearances in an old music video which got fans speculating. Conan Gray was seen wearing a Harris Reed, a designer who has worked with Harry Styles, Adele and Emma Corrin. Conan was wearing a lace train and blazer. Jack Harlow, who was a host and nominee, appeared in an all black leather suit and pants. Lil Naz X showed up in Harris Reed wearing a large feathered headpiece along with a wide feathered wire-rimmed skirt. Not only were these fashion choices bold and eye-catching, but they represented each celebrity’s personality and character. 

Some additional awards that were received at the show were, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, for “Best Rock” Jack Harlow for “Song Of The Summer” Nicki Minaj for “Best Hip-Hop Award” and Harry Styles for “Album Of The Year.”

This award show was an eventful and entertaining evening with a number of memorable moments and unforgettable performances that have topped the past 38 years of VMA history.
