Looking to try authentic, delicious food from all over the world? If so, make sure to attend the next International Food Festival hosted by The Village School for an amazing time learning about different cultures and experiencing their food.
At this event, students, staff, and parents can all express their cultures and heritage by dressing in their traditional clothing and displaying their country with a stand full of their food, and by getting to visit and explore the other countries’ stands. Inviting friends and family from outside of school to also enjoy the richness and diversity of this event.
“My favorite part about the food festival is being able to try my favorite foods from other countries that I can’t make myself, like the Alfajores from Argentina that are so good,” said Gabriela Obando, a freshman from Colombia. “What I like about the food festival is helping my mom and her friends out, making and preparing all the food for the Venezuela stand, and then being able to see people enjoy the arepas that my mom and I made,” said freshman Amelie Suarez Rojas. “The best part about this year’s festival was the dance-off when a bunch of people performed their traditional dances on the dance floor. I loved the Nigerian one,” said freshman Ayan Nakadarini, a student from The Awty International School, invited by friends.
This festival portrays The Village Schools’ diversity within its students and allows people to connect and meet with others from the same country as them in other grades. With the Food Fest bringing so much joy and smiles from the fun dancing, amazing food, and great environment, it truly is a great event everyone should experience at least once.
