Village Celebrates Diversity in the March of Nations Parade
On Friday, October 22, Vikings celebrated diversity with a March while recognizing every country that was on campus. The event included all grades from elementary to high school and took place on the football field on the high school campus.
The event started with students gathering in their country’s line, and one by one marching around the track and then having a seat on the field. Following this event, there was a speech about diversity and how to embrace what we have in The Village School by Mr. Delbrugge, the head of school, and the MUN Secretary-General, junior Alex Ilacqua. After the speech, a singing performance was held and then students were dismissed.
“I enjoyed it a lot,” said senior Rianne Shan from Malaysia, “It was really fun seeing everyone in their traditional wear, and I never knew how many countries were actually at this school.”
