Michelle Uwangue is currently a freshman, working for Viking Media, passionate about capturing stories through the lens of a camera. Drawn to the power of images, they chose to pursue photojournalism, believing that photography has the ability to communicate emotions and narratives in ways that words sometimes cannot. For Michelle, photojournalism is a way to highlight important stories and make an impact on the world. She is actively involved in speech and debate, basketball, tutoring and works as an intern and trainer for the football team, where she’s grown their leadership skills and developed a strong sense of community. When not working on photography projects or keeping busy with what she is involved in, Michelle enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and napping.
