On Friday, March 26, 2021, The Village School’s Mu Alpha Theta club celebrated Pi Day. Students and staff alike had the opportunity to participate in the festivities, with the highlight of the day being a pi-throwing event. Students and staff were encouraged to donate money in piggy banks placed around the school (for in-person students) or via Paypal (for online students) to teachers they wanted to see get “pied.” Students could also volunteer to be the pie-throwers!

“The best part about Pi Day was the fact that we were doing something non-academic and enjoyable,” said freshman Taylor Zhang, a spectator of the event. “Those of us outside loved watching shaving cream get thrown at teachers, and it was a blast. That was also my first week back in-person, and Pi Day was the perfect end to a stressful week!”

All the donations from the event went into a scholarship fund for a dedicated Village Viking.
