People who attend The Village School often make a point to visit the Houston Rodeo as a part of their visit to Texas. Most students are not native to Texas, or even America so the Rodeo is a must attend just to get a feel of the Southern culture. For example the Residential Life program takes the dorm students to the Rodeo every year to experience some southern fun. It grants them with a glimpse of a small look into what it is like to be a Texan, and what it means to be together as a culture. For the students who attend it could be a moment to connect the local culture, or a moment to connect to their culture once more. Making it a highlight of the year.
