On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, The Village School’s chapters for the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society collectively held their induction ceremonies for new inductees.

“My favorite moment was playing music with the jazz band, as it was a very light environment and we were all having fun,” said sophomore Ronak Sheth, a member of the Houston Symphony Band. “We played some really fun pieces like the Wii theme, Pokemon, and Fly Me To The Moon.”

After leadership members of each honor society delivered short speeches, the event was graced by the presence of two phenomenal guest speakers: The head of school Bill Delbrugge and former trustee for the HISD school board district Anne Sung. Both discussed the importance of personal growth and leadership within the high school experience.

“It was such an honor to be inducted for the National Honor Society this past week and being able to interact with like-minded students who strive for the same ambitions was incredible,” said sophomore Adeline Mai, a brand new member of the National Honor Society. “An essential asset of becoming a member was the privilege to network with our guest speaker, Anne Sung, who is one of the many industry-leading professionals! Her speech was impeccable, and I enjoyed how elaborate and thorough her story was as well as her guide to a thriving future!”

With eager new inductees on board, the honor societies are set for colossal progress next year!
