Demon Slayer season 2 has just finished airing, and the anime has once again found itself back on the charts. The new season is currently ranked as the 21st most popular anime season of all time, and with stunning visuals and dynamic characters, the show’s popularity is not a surprise. The new season is great, but how does it compare to the other top shounen anime?

Demon Slayer follows the story of a teenager named Tanjiro and his friends Inoske and Zenitsu who live in a world where demons roam the Earth at night, consuming humans to obtain more power. Tanjiro and his friends are known as Demon Slayers, elite swordsmen who specialize in demon killing. Tanjiro and his friends travel to the entertainment district to investigate the mysterious murders and disappearances in the area.

The new season is phenomenal, but how does it compare to other top-shounen anime? In terms of visuals and quality of animation, this new season is number 1. While other top Shounen anime like Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack On Titan are also well known for their top-tier animation, they can’t compete with Demon Slayer in this department. In regard to plot, however, Demon Slayer has to take a back seat to shows such as Attack On Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Tokyo Revengers. The show still has an exceptional plot though, as this new arc introduces new characters with cool new powers and abilities, as well as complex backstories. 

In all, the new season of Demon Slayer is easily the show’s best yet, and I would give it a solid 8.5/10. And with the third season having recently been announced, we can expect great things from the show.
