Toy Drive for the Winter Holidays

Just in time for the holidays, the annual Toy Drive that is hosted by Gerald Oliver has taken place at The Village School. Oliver used to be a VHS security guard a few years ago, but he retired to go pursue his dream career as a businessman and entrepreneur.

The reason I started this toy drive is that, as a child, it was hard for my grandparents to provide me with toys for the holidays because they just didn’t know what to get me,” said Oliver. “So I told myself when I was able to start a toy drive, I would do it for my hometown.”

This is the best time to donate some of your old toys to children who are in need of some fun, as you can bring them some joy during the winter holidays. If you are able to donate at least one toy I can guarantee that you will make a child’s day ten times better than it was before!

“Giving back to my community is all I want to do,” said Oliver.Same thing with starting a business – [as] I watched my grandparents being entrepreneurs, I knew one day I would be following my dream to become a business owner.”

Oliver’s business has brought smiles to children in his community for years, ensuring they feel just a little bit more joy every winter. By donating toys to such drives, you, too, can bring joy to children in your community, and give them hope that there are people who want everyone to be happy, no matter who you are or what situation you are in.

I believe the toy drive is doing well and I can’t wait to see the smile on the children’s faces when they get the toys from the drive on the 19th.”
